Sadler Cross Family Law is a family law firm in Colchester, Essex, advising people across England and Wales, and abroad, on divorce, finances, children, cohabitation, nuptial agreements, domestic abuse and mediation. We designed and built its new website around the people clients will speak to, with a free consultation one click away from every section. It went live in January 2026.

Sadler Cross was set up in 2020 and has grown and grown since, from Essex clients to clients right across England and Wales. By 2025 it had around 180 client reviews. Its website hadn't kept up. The WordPress site from the firm's early days looked dated next to the work behind it, and the reviews that did most of the persuading sat on a separate tab the team updated by hand.
The firm asked us for a modern site with one main job: getting people to book a free consultation. People come to a family law firm at some of the hardest moments of their lives, so the site had to feel personal too. The firm wanted visitors to see the faces of the people they'd be speaking to, and read what other clients had said about them, before they picked up the phone.
It also had to fit how the firm works. New reviews keep arriving, and the firm wanted to choose which ones to show. It encourages its solicitors to build their own following, so each needed a profile page worth putting on a business card. Success meant more consultations, booked by people who already knew who they'd be talking to.
Samantha started with four ideas for the home page. The firm picked the second, where photos of the team slide across the screen and client reviews turn over between them, and asked for the fourth's row of service categories to come too, rounded to match. That set the look for every page: deep blue and off-white, soft corners, and the firm's own people in every section.
Samantha then designed the full site, and the firm clicked through it as if it were live before a single page was built. With the design agreed, Maximillian built the site in Webflow, and the firm had a working version to try on its phones four weeks later.
The home page opens on people. Rows of team portraits and five-star reviews slide across the screen in opposite directions, each review under the name of the solicitor it's about. Where a photo had to stand for a hard subject, we chose quiet ones, like a couple reading through papers together. No couples shouting. No child with their hands over their ears.
Further down, the team sits in a row of portraits. Click one and that person slides into focus with their role, what they specialise in, how to reach them and a link to their full profile. All ten have a profile page of their own, the kind a solicitor can put on a business card. The seven-step process, from first contact to aftercare, is there for anyone who's never instructed a solicitor, and each step opens as you hover over it. The process, the team and the reviews repeat on every service page, because plenty of visitors arrive on a service page from Google and never see the home page.
On a desktop, the row of services slides sideways as you scroll down, easing a beat behind the scroll so it glides. For anyone whose device asks for less motion, it moves with the scroll exactly. The firm's figures count up as they come into view. Its accreditations, from the Law Society's Lexcel mark to Resolution, run in a slow line above the footer. And the Solicitors Regulation Authority's badge, which every firm it regulates has to show, sits on every page.
The firm's reviews now sit in Webflow's CMS, 214 of them, each tagged with the solicitor it's about and, where it says, the service it was for. They carry the solicitor's name, never the client's. On the home page they come as a stack of cards you flick through, and each service page shows only the reviews for that service, so someone reading about divorce sees what divorcing clients said. A new review goes in once and turns up everywhere it belongs. We add new ones for the firm as part of our ongoing work.
Every part of the site points the same way. A Book your free consultation button sits in the hero and again in the sections that follow, and the enquiry form waits at the foot of every page: the visitor's details, the other party's name, the advice they need and how they heard about the firm. Each enquiry lands in the firm's inbox, and Webflow keeps a copy.
We've also built in SimplyBook, the booking system the firm chose. It's set up on our side, ready for the firm to switch on. Five solicitors have a booking button waiting on their portrait that opens their own diary in a window on the page, so a visitor can go from reading a solicitor's reviews to booking a free consultation with them without leaving the site.
Their new site went live in January 2026.

"I think it looks really reassuring. From a client's point of view, if I was to land on that, there's information about the process, the people, the testimonials. It looks really good, I have to say. Really, really happy with it."
Imogen S, Apprentice Solicitor, Sadler Cross Family Law
"I'm very happy that we could elevate the look and feel of the website to reflect the quality of the work across their clients: a top 2% family law firm in the UK. Before, they didn't have the website to show that. The current one is really approachable to mach them."
